Mario Högemann

Mario Högemann (he/him) studied Cultural Studies and later Acting at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Bonn. He has performed at Theater Bonn, Theater im Bauturm Cologne, studiobühnekoeln, Volkstheater Vienna, Schauspiel Köln (Doris Uhlich) and Theater Regensburg. He was a member of the dance company bodytalk, performed with ANALOGTHEATER (recipient of the Cologne Theatre Prize 2016), with SIGNA at the Wiener Festwochen (2016 and 2025), and was part of the ensemble at Zimmertheater Tübingen from 2018 to 2021.

Furthermore, Mario has created “social performances” such as DAS SCHAF, DIE GENESUNG, and THE EGO IS PRESENT for the Pinakothek der Moderne, and works as a curator for the Queer Film Festival Munich (QFFM).

He also teaches workshops for museums, theatres, schools, and universities on topics such as queerness, theatre pedagogy, performance art, and the relationship between immersion and participation. Mario is currently completing a Master’s degree in Cultural Mediation in the Arts at the University of Hildesheim and a member of the Queer Media Society. His work focuses on participatory strategies for the arts and mediation.
